So essentially we have one group operating on a completely elastic model (Uber etc) and one operating on a fixed supply model. At least, it’s fixed in one direction — can’t make bikes disappear into thin air!
If you factor in the environmental cost of having a fixed supply of resources that need replacing (bikes or robotaxis), I wonder if they still come out ahead? It’s a shame that environmental costs are still for the most part an externality in business…
